IELTS vs TOEFL: Which Should You Take for Studying Abroad?

One of the most common questions we get from Bangladeshi students is: "Should I take IELTS or TOEFL?" The short answer is: it depends on your target country and university.

When to Choose IELTS

Choose IELTS if you are targeting the UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Malaysia, or European countries.

When to Choose TOEFL

TOEFL is more commonly required by US universities.

Minimum Scores Required

1. Malaysia: IELTS 5.0–6.0
2. UK Universities: IELTS 6.0–7.0
3. Australia: IELTS 6.0–7.0
4. Canada: IELTS 6.0–6.5 (CLB 7)
5. Cyprus: IELTS 5.5–6.5
