Studying in the United Kingdom is a dream for thousands of Bangladeshi students every year. The UK is home to world-class universities, a globally recognised qualification system, and the Graduate Route visa that allows 2 years of post-study work rights. But getting the visa right is crucial.
Step 1: Secure Your University Offer
Before you can apply for a UK student visa, you must hold an unconditional offer from a university with a UKVI-approved sponsor license. The university will issue you a CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) number, which is essential for your visa application.
Step 2: Gather Your Documents
Your UK student visa application requires the following key documents:
- Valid passport (at least 6 months beyond your intended stay)
- CAS reference number from your university
- Financial evidence (bank statements showing sufficient funds)
- IELTS or other approved English language test results
- Academic transcripts and certificates
- Tuberculosis (TB) test results (required for Bangladeshi applicants)
Step 3: Meet the Financial Requirements
You must show that you have enough money to pay your course fees and support yourself during your studies. For a course outside London, you need to show £1,334 per month for up to 9 months. Additionally, you need to show the first year's tuition fee or the full course fee if less than a year.
Step 4: Apply Online
UK student visa applications are submitted online through the official UKVI website. You pay the visa application fee and the Immigration Health Surcharge online.
Step 5: Biometrics at the Visa Application Centre
After submitting your online application, you'll need to visit a Visa Application Centre (VAC) in Dhaka or Chittagong to enroll your biometrics.
